Personal Information
Marital status: Single
Nationality: British
Date of birth: 20th February 1981
Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence
Profile
I am an ambitious, honest, trustworthy, and hard working person. My time
keeping and attendance is excellent. I am confident working as an individual
using my own initiative, but I especially enjoy working as part of a team. I
particularly enjoy computer programming, using languages such as Visual Basic,
ASP, SQL, ASP.NET and XML. I have a formal qualification at level one in Visual
Basic. I have just finished my University degree in Software Engineering,
achieving a Upper Second Class Honours Degree, and look forward to using my
skills in the workplace. During my final year at University, I had to research,
plan, and design, implement and test a Final Year Project of my choice. I chose
to develop a File Version Control type software developed in Visual Basic .NET
and used SQL Server as a database to store all of the information. I have
always tried to further my knowledge of computing, and I look forward to doing
so in the future. I have had experience of web development during my time at
college, university and while working for the past two years. My communication
skills are limited due to my speech impairment, but it is mainly a mild
stutter.
My Disability
I have got a disability called Cerebral Palsy. It affects my walking,
restricting me to how far I can walk without getting pains in my legs. I can
walk up and down stairs, and can carry things with one hand, enabling me to
hold on to the rail with the other hand while doing so.

Professional Experience
October 1996 – MIS at Swift House (Work Experience)
I Worked in the MIS department at Swift House. I was part of a small team in
charge of installing the software package Microsoft Office 97 onto a number of
new computers for the County Council’s Civic Centre Offices. I was given a
deadline to complete the installation of the software, and we were successful
in meeting the deadline. I then helped employees in the MIS department to
install the machines at the Civic Centre. I really enjoyed the experience and
received a very good response from my manager.
June 2003 to June 2004 – Artera Group Inc.
I worked as a Junior Programmer in the development team at the UK office of
Artera Group Inc. for one year, where I contributed to the development of the
CRM used by Artera Group Inc. Developments were carried out using ASP, ASP.NET,
Visual Basic, Visual Basic.NET, and XML. The database used by the CRM was SQL
Server 2000.
June 2004 to July 2005 – Artera Group Inc.
It had been decided that the UK office of Artera Group Inc. would close. I,
however, was asked to continue working for Artera Group Inc. from home. I had
the same job as the previous year, and developments were carried out using the
same technologies.
May 2005 to June 2005 – Self Employed
I was asked to develop a website for a Dairy Farm company, which would enable
them to easily create orders as well as to create and print reports such as
round sheets, and invoices. The website was to communicate with a database,
which was SQL Server 2000, and was also to integrate with Sage Accounts.
Interests and Activities
Swimming and Snooker are my favourite sports, but I enjoy watching most sports.
I also enjoy watching films and searching for resources on the internet.
